Our second day of riding

The Greek Island of Kos and the second island of our Greek Island Tour. well established and nicely paved Sunny all ride

Twenty Five miles with a fair amount of climbing. Mostly up hill until lunch and then downhill to flat to finish. I was tired enough to not stop to take photos today. Sorry. More tomorrow.

Goats, Cats and Rock

Kalymnos. Our first island ride. Cloudy with a chance of rain First off, get the bicycle ready to ride Some prefer their own seat. Others their own pedals and some,both Me, I wanted my pedals swapped for a larger platform pedal. Easier said than done. The pedal on my left crack was so stuck on, it required a visit to the local bike shop. It needed to be cut off. I was ready to go, dead last. I needed to make a few stops, putting me further behind.

A very hilly first day with lots to see. My first stop was on the side of the road by a dumpster A favorite spot for a lot of stray cats.

Rock Climbing is huge here and seen everywhere The locals use scooters to get around and as you pass you can see many climbers at their sport

Finishing the ride is always the best. Following the well marked route right back to the boat. Shower and a nap. Dinner at Seven o'clock. What could be better?

To the Boat in Bodrum

Our bicycle tour this year is a "Bike/Boat Tour" Just as it says, we will be going by boat to some of the Greek islands to ride. We will be staying on the boat at nght and riding during the day. Simple as that!

Seven islands in all. We met everyone today at our Hotel in Bodrum, Turkey to go over the details. It looks like a great group of soon to be new friends.

Our cabin is perfect. Cute and tiny. Just right for us and our gear. Dinner on the Deck at Seven. Experience Plus dinners always start with a cocktail. Wine, red or white , Beer if you wish. Tonight's dinner was a delicious mix of fish and vegetables. The Fried potatoes were great.

We had a meeting afterwards to go over safety tips and the way things will work out best for the group. We had a chance to introduce ourselves and tell about our past tours.

The bicycles are on board and ready for tomorrow's ride.

It looks like tomorrow is going to be a great ride and the start of another memorlal adventure! See you on the road!

A day of all travel

Up at 6:00 am, Coffee and a Cab. Train time again! The 7:04 to Paris. We found our seat and settled in only to find out, we were in the wrong car! Get the Bags and run to the whole length of the train, (30+ cars) to where we actually had seats. Yes my friends, traveling is an extreme sport. Not for the faint of heart! Beautiful morning. Fog in spots. High Speed on the TGV! Well after 15 hours of travel, we have arrived. Photos in the morning. Thank You for following along!

A full day in Strasbourg

We slept late! 12:00! Nice to get real sleep. The Plan today is to go shopping. I need a new helmet and rain jacket. My old ones were left on the plane from Boston to New York and are gone for ever. It was a helmet I was planning to toss and my rain jacket was too short and as a result, my waist would get wet while riding. So after coffee, we will walk actually town to the Decathlon. Decathlon is a low priced sporting goods store that has everything! a nice walk across town window shopping is exactly what both of us want to do.

We will be off to dinner in an hour. Looking forward to another wonderful dinner tonight. We both skipped breakfast and lunch today. We wish you were here!

A tomato slice topped with a mix of anchovies, tiny croutons, and a mix of wild herb's. Truly one of yhe best things I have ever eaten!

Potato puree with caviar

Cod with a seaweed wrap in a sauce of cream, legumes and Periwinkle with an Oyster leaf on the side. (it tastes just like an oyster believe it or not!)

Veal with a nut puree in a magnificent sauce! Sided with another mix of greens of which you would never find at the local grocery.

And of course, a special desert from the Chef! Another Spectacular Day! Tomorrow is a travel day. We need to be on the train by 7:00 am. Off to Paris and onto the Plane to Turkey. We will see how well that goes! 😄
