The Final Ride

Our final full day and our final Island Ride. Everyone is tired and both happy and sad it's coming to a close.

Although we were not on an Island, we did start out as usual. This time on busier streets than what we have had sll tour.

Hot sun, steep climbs and rough road surfaces, everyone noticed and mentioned it.

We stopped at a nice seaside restaurant for lunch. great menu and of course Cold Beer!

The rest of the ride was quite hilly with amazing views More hot sun and rough roads.

The Best Road

Everyone agreed. The best road ever. Perfectly paved. Switchback after switchback. 13 in all. Beautiful views all along the way.

Our 6th island. The ride started on one side of the Island of Symi and crossed over the top to the other side. I started in town at the monastery that I missed last night The church of St Michael.

It was a beautiful little chapel with lots of wood carvings. After a quick look around, i headed out for the climb .

A quick stop for a coffee or a coke on the desent. Windy and getting dark.

What started as a slight sprinkle turned into a hard wind driven rain Still warm, 75°, not a problem.

We were good and wet when we finished our ride at lunch. The sun returned and dryed us out by the time we finished eating The roads were even dry for the finish back to the boat.

Another great day Tomorrow is our last riding day . The time has gone by quickly . No one is complaining. Although we are sad our rides are coming to an end it will be nice to stay in a room and not a tiny ships cabin.

A Short out and back

Our 4th day of riding. Today's ride was a short out and back. Basically for us it a ride to the top of the hill for an ice coffee and back down again. Lots of Rock and Goats Sunny and not too hot.

After a 4.5 hour motor we have arrived at our next island. to late for a ride. Maybe just a walk around town.

Exploring a Volcano

Our 3rd day of riding. We are having a late start to the day because of the time it took to get here. A delicious breakfast one hour later than the last 2 days. No one complained. The riding could have not been better but the volcano attraction,a bit anticlimactic . It was interesting how it attracted tour busses. The point of interest, I don't think, interested anyone. Many beautiful views coming and going. I hope you enjoy the photographs
