Settled in Strasbourg

What a beautiful Town like city! We are staying in the old part of town in a quaint little hotel in view of the Cathedral.
and a short walk to one of our all time favorite Restraunts. We were there last night and will be returning again tonight.
Lunch today was one of our Strasbourg favorites. Onion Tart with. Tall Cold Beer.

Always starting with a glass of Extra Dry Champagne.
The Amuse-bouche of which here, there are two, starts out with a tro of Crab on toast, A Radish with a Bouage flower in a thin crust and a Puff filled with a lite cheese certainly gets things going! Perfectly paired with the Champagine. The next is a cup filled about 1/4 with lentils in an amazing sause topped with a gas whipped foam of Tomato juce and topped with a dried tomato dust. fluffy to the bottom and then, WOW!
Fresh rolls, with again, Normandy Butter
Mackerel and caviar topped cucumber curls!
Stuffed Tomato with Anchovy and crouton bits. Maybe the best thing I have ever eaten!
Rabbit Ribs!
Normandy Blue Lobster Tail and Squab with a Nut sauce and puree mushroom.
3 desserts and then the Armagnac!
We will return tomorrow for our 3rd time to this amazing Restraunt!

Day 9. Our last bike tour day.

Sad that its over. We will miss our cycling friends. We really have had a great time in some amazing places.
Todays ride was a loop around and back. We had a stop at a Apple Cider farm that was known for its Calvados. A very strong apple brandy. Some liked it and others did not. The cider was good. Better than what I have had in the past.
Our ride took us back to the coast one more time. We were along a " False Harbor" that had bern made to off load provisions gor the troops during the 2nd World War. Things like fuel and ammunition needed for the battles that rventually ended the war. With out this Harbor, it would not have ended so soon.
Returning back to the Hotel I stripped my bike of all my personal belongings. Camera mounts, GPS mount and so on. A trip around town took us to the Bayeux Museum for a look at the " La Tapisserie de Bayeue". It actually is amazing! There is a lot more detail than you ever see when not in person!

Day 8 A Ride back to the Beaches

Another chance of rain but instead of carrying my rain suit, i thought I could leave it in the van that follows the group. Bad Idea! After about an hour out, it started coming down at a good rate! The ride for me turned into a " chase down the van!" I got soaked and by the time I found it, the sun started coming out!

Day 8 Sunday.Ride to the Beachs at Normandy

Cold Start! 55° It's not been this cool all trip. There is a chance of rain. Cold rain is never fun. We have fenders. Most of the other riders do not. I have a rain suit. Most of the riders do not. I hope it won't rain.
Whats in a Headge Row? What makes up that wall of green? Well I will show you!
The weather for the most pary was nice. Cool and comfortable. I mever needed rain gear.
The closer we got to the beaches. , the more Army influence.
Private John Steele dangling from the church at Sainte-Mère-Église. The day turned out to be rain free, for me.
