San Sabastian

After a days drive east along one of the most scenic highways we have ever traveled, we are now in San Sabastian, Spain. Where France meets Spain on the Atlantic Ocean, is San Sasbastian. Although the city inself is huge, the small old town on the water is where we spend most of our time and is one of the nicest historical villages we have ever visited.
Loaded with many cool shops all artfully decorated and amazing restaurants specializing in little single serving bites of some of the most delicious combinations you could ever imagine. The look of them alone is fantastic.
The little bites are called Pintxo. Known to the rest of Spain as Tapas. You pick what you want, show the waiter and then pay.
Beer and wine is served as well. The plan is to go lightly and then move to another bar after a short while. A typical afternoon or evening could be as many as 5 stops depending on how hungry you are and how full you want to get. This usually results of an evening of fine dining and lots of fun.
Everyone seems happy at a Pinixo bar and are willing to talk. In the case of San Sabastion, people have come from all over the world. We are never surprised to meet someone from our same home towns 3400 miles away!
Hardly the "Selfie Stick sorts, Most seem have an understanding of a good thing and are taking full advantage of it.
This is our second trip to this town. Our first time was with our tandem at the start of the Camino del Norte
2014. We haven't seen much change since then. Still wonderful. here are today's photos.
