Day Trip to Biot and Grasse

No trip for us to the Cote d' Azur would be complete without a road trip north to two of our favorite towns.
The first, Biot, is a small hill top village that is known for its world famous Glass Blowing School.
Its also the quintessential Provence shopping spot. Today there was an International glass show. There about 10 vendors in town showing their art and how its made.
Its also the place of one of our very favorite restaurants, " Chez Odile"
Its everything you would expect. The food is always great as well as the service. The photos should tell the rest of the story

Grasse, The perfume capital of the world. There are more perfume houses in this town than any other one town in the world. Its truly an amazing place. Every turn of the head is another factory and a tour.
The town itself is "Old World" Off the beaten path there some amazing veiws. A place that time has forgotten.
I can only imagine that after the movie, "Perfume: The Story of a Murderer" it became a whole lot popular.
Following the signs into town, we were lead to a newer more modern facility. Those are the first photos.
We were directed to the old site where our tour began:

This the technique of infusing the delicate sent of Jasmine from the blossom without using the harsh method of distilling. The flowers sit in vegetable fat for about 2 weeks and then are rendered slowly with heat and filtering .The Jasmine oils float to the top.

After a look around the shop at the end of the tour, we headed out for a walk. We never saw some of the spots we saw this trip. It looks as if it has not changes for 100 years!
