Today we drove 5 hours South to a town we have been to three times. Cahors.
Once the finance center of all of France because of its River that winds around the town, fortifying the center with only one wall. Known for its nearly Black Red Wine that the Catholic Church once considered it to be their Official wine. A town that screams "Old World!"
I love it here. Not really touristy. A rear French Adventure. The First time we were here was in 2001. We had just finished our first leg of the Chimen de St Jacque. The second was the following year to start our second leg to the Spanish border. The Third was 2 years ago when we did both the first and the second leg.

This time we are meeting a group that will be joining us for an all road ride to the West. Ten days of riding with many stops to learn more then we know now. Sounds like fun. The first day will be close to 4000 feet of climbing. Fun!

Although most of the day was spent in the car, I did take photos to share. We hope you enjoy the journey as well as the finish!

  1. Loving the photos-- they seem to post around our dinner time. Shepherd's pie for dinner tonight-- not as good looking as what you posted. It's super cool here today, but 80s and humid forecast for the rest of the week.
