Our Rest Day in Sarlet

There is nothing like a day off in France. We love riding and seeing nice places along the way, but given the chance, we like to take our time, get lost and really observe.
Today's 'Day Off" is in an great old town. Souillac has a huge open market the fills the streets. Right outside our hotel there were booth after booth of about everything you could imagine! Clothing. Food of the region, tools, candles, soap, you name it, its at the market for sale.
We spent the morning shopping for gifts to bring home and just looking. Every booth, worth a stop!

Our Hotel for two days.

Having fun with our new silly reading glasses

Back to the Hotel to join up with the group

After a re-group, it was time to head out for dinner. Some night, on our own and others night with the group. Tonight, with the group in a nice outdoor spot that was told to be one of the leaders favorite.

We had been told that in the evening, in town there was going to be a once a year festival of candles. 10,000 candles placed in rows, lighting the old town and at some time during the night, all the electric lights would be shut off. We missed that part, but heard the cheers from our room after we had gone to bed.
We did how ever get out for a walk and take photos of an amazing event.
