Day 2

Another wet day and a great morning to catch up on our lost sleep from traveling. Nothing to do today but to make it to our favorite restaurant in the whole world, (sort of) Casa Marcelo. It will be the first time this year and the first time without Chef Martin. It will be interesting to see how it has changed. Our Reservation was for 1:30. Barbara headed out early and me, a bit later. Im a slow walker because of what feels like a sprain in my calf. I arrived a bit later with a beer waiting for me. Thank You Barbara. So nice to be back at our familiar place and our seat at the bar where we have total view of the kitchen. We have eaten here at least 30 times. Please let's not think about how much it cost. We live for being here. As much as I hate to say it, Its our Happy Place. We rely on our waiter to order for us. I drink the local beer but Barbara has the wine paired with what were eating.
Their amazing Onion Soup
It was nice to see that Casa Marcelo has remained the charming, friendly and over the top eating experience that will keep us coming back!
We got back to our Hotel and got ready to take it easy for the rest of the evening when Barbara got a text from my friends Sister in law thanking her for a recommendation she made for going to a restaurant in Santiago after finishing the Camino de Santiago. She said it was the best place that she and her friend had ever eaten in. After going back and forth texting, they both discovered that she and her friend were at Casa Marcelo at the same time as us! I had seen them but of course, having never met, had no Idea who they were. The wife of my good friends brother, Ben Morganthau! It was too late after our long day to go out, so the plan was to meet in the morning after breakfast.
